Event Description

This class is for those who have mastered the basics. We will continue to build upon your skills and explore the process of the actual hand quilting designs. You can either bring a quilt top that is ready for quilting or a pattern with open blocks will be provided.

Option 1: Machine or Hand-Pieced

If you have a quilt top ready to quilt, it should include the top, batting, and backing. Please bring safety pins for basting the layers together, hand quilting thread, needles, scissors, and a mechanical pencil. Quilting hoop optional.

Option 2: Nine Patch Wall Hanging Pattern

Materials list includes ½ yard light fabric for blocks, 3/8 yard medium fabric for blocks, 5/8 yard coordinating fabric for inner border and binding, 5/8 yard fabric for an outer border, 1 ¼ yard fabric for backing, 41”x41” square of low loft batting. 

Supply list: (Quilt top can be either machine or hand pieced - your choice.) Fabric scissors, utility scissors, 1 template plastic, mechanical pencil, fine paint permanent marker, 9 ½” x9 ½” square acrylic ruler (omnigrid), size 9 hand sewing needles, thimble, and thread. Machine piecing: rotary cutting supplies, rulers, mat and cutter, sewing machine, thread, pins, scissors, pencil, and basic sewing supplies.
