Event Description

Join the Teen Services Librarians for an online book discussion just for teens in grades 10-12. This month, we'll discuss:

A First Time for Everything by Dan Santat

There's a first time for everything, and we invite you to join our first online meeting of Bookmarkers! The online 10th-12 grade book chat group to discuss Dan Santat's autobiographical graphic novel, A First Time For Everything. Backpack through Europe with inexperienced, 13-year-old Dan, right before he starts high school. Funny, poignant and surprising, this is a trip you won't want to miss from the comfort of your own home!

Attendees who read the book and participate in the discussion will earn 3 hours of community service credit.

Please note that in order to receive community service credit for this program, your camera must be turned on and facing you for the entire length of the program.

This program will be hosted online via Zoom. The Zoom link will be emailed to registrants prior to the start of the program. Haven’t used Zoom before? Watch a helpful tutorial by our librarian Alison.

Borrowing Guidelines

Valid Adult Longwood Public Library Card in good standing.
A maximum of three items from this collection may be borrowed at a time.
Equipment and Gadgets are available at the Adult Reference Desk and must be returned to the Circulation Desk. Gadgets placed on hold may be checked out at the at the Circulation Desk when ready for pickup. Equipment and Gadgets may not be returned to the book drop.
If any item is lost or damaged, the full value of the item will be charged to the patron account.
The library has a limited number of items in the collection; if the item comes back late or is lost, the library may not be able to honor reservations.
The use of some items may require precertification or training; if there are any precertification requirements, there will be a link in the item description to the required training.
