Event Description

Once one of the largest military training camps in the United States, Camp Upton brought tens of thousands of soldiers to the pine barrens of Suffolk County during both World Wars. This talk explores life at the camp, including the soldiers who trained there, and also traces how veterans later settled in nearby communities, helping shape the region we know today.
