Presenter Dr. E. Christa Farmer will discuss the fundamental causes of global climate change and the resulting impacts with a special focus on what they mean for Long Island.

Dr. E. Christa Farmer earned a B.S. in Earth Systems from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Paleoclimatology from Columbia University. She has been teaching classes in global climate change, sedimentology, environmental geology, and oceanography (among others) at Hofstra University since 2004. She co-edited Learning from the Impacts of Superstorm Sandy with J Bret Bennington in 2015, also co-authoring three chapters in that volume.
