Program Description

Event Description

Join us in the Great Backyard Bird Count, a global citizen science project! For four days in February, everyone is invited to spend time in their favorite places watching and counting as many birds as they can find and reporting them. You don’t even have to go outside - you can count the birds you see on your feeder while looking out the window!

Pick up the Great Backyard Bird Count packets at the library starting February 2.

Tally sheets from the Bird Counting Packet should be returned to the library by February 23 to be included in our library-wide bird count. Or, if you prefer, you may enter your tallies on your own through either the Merlin Bird ID app or the eBird website or app. For more details, visit https://www.birdcount.org/participate/

Sponsored by the National Audubon Society, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Birds Canada, these recorded observations help scientists better understand global bird populations before one of their annual migrations.
