Event Description
Historical interpreter Sarah Walsh portrays Abigail Adams—wife, mother, farm manager, and trusted advisor— as if it were 1776, as she prepares to move her family to Boston for smallpox inoculation while John Adams is in Philadelphia for the second Continental Congress. Reflecting on a changed city and the risks of the procedure, Abigail faces a struggle at home nearly as daunting as the fight for Independence.
This event is co-sponsored by Suffolk County and Legislator Nick Caracappa.
