Hokis Pokis was a seminal force in the New York disco and soul scene during the 1970s and 80s. Formed in 1970, the band carved out a distinct sound that blended infectious disco rhythms with soulful grooves, earning them a loyal following in underground circles. While never breaking into the mainstream, Hokis Pokis released a number of records both nationally and internationally, including the highly sought after tracks such as Nowhere. Can’t Wait for Love. Swing. Getcha Girl, and City Rhythm.
