Hokis Pokis was a seminal force in the New York disco and soul scene during the 1970s and 80s. Formed in 1970, the band carved out a distinct sound that blended infectious disco rhythms with soulful grooves, earning them a loyal following in underground circles. While never breaking into the mainstream, Hokis Pokis released a number of records both nationally and internationally, including the highly sought after tracks such as “Nowhere”. “Can’t Wait for Love”. “Swing”. “Getcha Girl”, and “City Rhythm”.
