Program Description

Event Description

Twenty-five years ago, the discovery of a leak of radioactive water at Brookhaven National Lab ignited a political and media firestorm although the leak was not hazardous to the public or employees. Retired physicist and past interim laboratory director Peter Bond, co-author of The Leak: Politics, Activists and Loss of Trust at Brookhaven National Laboratory, will discuss the impacts the interactions of politics, activists and media produced and show how the events are relevant to numerous topics of today.
