Event Description

ADB combines reading (3 books), eating (lots of delicious snacks) and elaborate costumes into a program that is fun, entertaining and challenging! Pick up the books in True North and read them in preparation for our practice dates, which begin in January. On Friday, February 28 from 6-9pm, we'll compete against 21 other libraries in the 15th Annual ADB: Advanced Division Battle of the Books that will be held at the Connetquot High School.

Practice dates:
Fridays, January 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31
February 7 & 14
from 7:00-8:30 pm

In-person registration begins October 1 at 9:30 am.

Advanced Division Battle of the Books is open to teens who are in grades 9-12 only.

Borrowing Guidelines

Valid Adult Longwood Public Library Card in good standing.
A maximum of three items from this collection may be borrowed at a time.
Equipment and Gadgets are available at the Adult Reference Desk and must be returned to the Circulation Desk. Equipment and Gadgets may not be returned to the book drop.
If any item is lost or damaged, the full value of the item will be charged to the patron account.
The library has a limited number of items in the collection; if the item comes back late or is lost, the library may not be able to honor reservations.
The use of some items may require precertification or training; if there are any precertification requirements, there will be a link in the item description to the required training.
