Program Description

Event Description

Learn the very basics of hand quilting. If you have always wanted to learn how to quilt but haven't had the chance, register for this class. Beginners encouraged to attend.

We will start at the very beginning of the quilt making process with hand piecing skills. Hand piecing and hand quilting projects are very portable. You will learn quilting terms and techniques while working on a small table runner project. Materials list includes fabric scissors, utility scissors, 1 template plastic (sold in sheets), mechanical pencil, fine point permanent marker, 6”x12” acrylic ruler, size 9 hand sewing needles, thimble and neutral color thread. For fabric you will need 100% cotton quilting fabric consisting of 1 yard light background, ¾ yard darker fabric, and 1 yard coordinated fabric (such as floral). These materials can be found at Joann’s or any local quilting store.
