New York State Safe Boating Class

Learn the basic principles of safe and responsible boating. Topics covered include rules of the nautical road, required safety equipment, special boating related activities and more. New York State Safe Boating Classes are mandatory for anyone operating a boat, watercraft or Jet Ski in NY State. The law requires those born on or after January 1, 1978 to complete a class by 2024. By 2025, everyone, regardless of age, MUST have a safe boating certificate. This class also certifies students 14 years or older to operate a Jet Ski in NY State. Students must be at least 10 years old to attend the class and must attend all class sessions to receive certification.

Students must attend both classes to receive a Safe Boating Certificate. The cost for this class is $40 CASH (exact change), CHECK, or VENMO payable at the first class. (NO CREDIT CARDS).
